Artist's Comments

This was originally supposed to reflect a recurring dream I had of photographing a blood-red sky. Instead, it morphed mostly unconsciously into something that Beeaqueen had suggested I make about a week earlier.
Yeah, it's been done a lot of times, but this is the first time I personally have succeeded at a scene like this, and I like how it turned out.
Credit for the palm tree goes to Arbaro, for the ground to Geomorph, and for the water to Christoph Hormann.

Wow, from the thumbnail, the horizon is not very visible and the reflections aren't apparent reflections. I should probably fix that.

Agreed...the full view looks about ten million times better...the waves come out better and the horizon is more defined. Very nice...looks almost like a photograph.

Looks beautiful, nice composition too. Nice palm tree - looks real! Is the water an infinite plane? Maybe make it finite and place the sun beyond it so the sun doesn't look like its floating in the water? Just a thought.

The water is not an infinite plane. The sun is just positioned in the wrong spot, and preliminary renders did not show the minor details around the edges that make it look like it's floating.
